RULES + DESIGN NOTES

The Vault

Work together just enough. Then decide how greedy to get.

The Vault is Hadtoo's co-opetitive heist game for 4–8 players. Each job presents shared vaults; players secretly choose where to go and how much they intend to help the crew versus help themselves.

HOW THE GAME WORKS

01

Pick a vault

Each job presents three shared vaults with different security and reward profiles. Players choose in secret, so crews form only after everyone is committed.

02

Choose your contribution

Roles trade cooperation for payout. CRACK contributes more breach power for one share, GREED contributes less for a larger share, and an INSIDE JOB can sacrifice breach power for a betrayal opportunity.

03

Meet security

A vault opens only if the crew's combined breach meets its security. Too much selfish play can leave everyone empty-handed.

04

Split the take

Successful crews divide the reward according to their choices. A lone traitor can steal a portion before the remaining split, creating a reason to cooperate and a reason not to trust the table completely.

WHAT HADTOO CREATED FOR THIS TITLE

Specific systems, not a claim over the whole genre.

  • The shared-vault selection structure where crews are created by simultaneous hidden choices.
  • The CRACK/GREED/INSIDE JOB contribution-versus-cut system and its cooperation threshold.
  • The Black Vault jackpot behavior, cinematic resolution flow, adaptive table layout, onboarding, and result explanations.

ORIGINALITY BOUNDARY

What we mean when we call it original.

Heists, hidden roles, cooperation, and betrayal are established themes and mechanics. Hadtoo's original work is the specific shared-vault economy, contribution thresholds, payout roles, jackpot behavior, UI, result sequencing, and implementation used in this game.
